KI GLAMS MIAMI’S A&D COMMUNITY WITH ITS “ALTUS IN WONDERLAND” THEMED PURSE PARTY

GREEN BAY, WIS.– Designers, architects and KI staff enjoyed a night of glitz, glamour and handbags at KI’s “Altus in Wonderland” purse party on May 13 in Coral Gables, Fla. More than 15 local architecture and design firms indulged in the finest of food, drinks and company, and participated in a unique purse decorating competition. The KI-hosted event benefitted the Miami Children’s Hospital Foundation.
The name of the event is a direct play on KI’s new Altus™ Task Seating collection. The event took place at Neiman Marcus in the Village of Merrick Park shopping center, and all attendees received special gift totes.
The event featured the full cast of Alice in Wonderland, including Miami Beach Drag Queen Adora as the Queen of Hearts. Guests created purses that consisted of at least 50 percent Pallas Textiles fabric. The best designs won prizes valued at $500. All entries were displayed in the Neiman Marcus handbag department as part of the cocktail party.
“Altus in Wonderland was a tremendously creative, playful and fun event for the Miami design community,” said Scott Russell, district manager, KI. “It was the perfect opportunity for local designers to mingle and engage in friendly competition—all for a great cause.”
The custom handbags were donated to the Miami Children’s Hospital Foundation for auction at its October 2 Diamond Ball. The Ball, known as one of the premier social events of the season, is the Foundation’s primary fundraiser to aid in its mission to fund world-class care at Miami Children’s Hospital.
